Our Missions | Care Packages | Veterans' Outreach
Operation Postcard | Wounded Soldiers | Gold Star Parents

Since our inception and following in the footsteps of our grandmothers and mothers, we have mailed "a little bit of home" to our sons and daughters serving around the world. Often commanding officers in the field will contact us and let us know that they have a young man or woman who is not receiving any boxes or letters from home. These kids quickly come into our hearts and soon receive a care package with a big blue star on the box, letting them know that good people from Alameda and Contra Costa Counties in California think about and support them. Our boxes have come to have meaning to the troops overseas. We know this from the letters we get receive (letters from the troops coming soon). We depend on your generous donations and volunteer help to continue sending these care packages and notes from home.

All donations are fully tax deductible under our 501(c)3 IRS status. Kindly note your donation is intended for care package supplies/postage on the memo line. Tax ID # 84-1622728.

Blue Star Moms Thanks You for your Support

Thank you for choosing Blue Star Moms to support. It's thoughtful people like you that make it possible for us to send care packages to our brave troops.
We appreciate the time and effort it takes to organize a donation drive and would like to share a few guidelines to help with your success.

Please use the appropriate donation list that will be provided to you. We have different lists for different times of the year.

Please stay as close to the list as possible, giving special attention to the words that are typed in RED which indicates a specific size and the need to be individually wrapped.

We can only accept UNOPENED boxes and packages of food items

Please check expiration dates and purchase only goods that will be viable after our mailing date. We mail care packages for Valentine's Day, July 4th, and Christmas. Please see our calendar for packing days. We would like to receive items at least one week prior to packing day.

We prefer to receive the items unopened,in the original package and simply delivered in bags or boxes

If you will be packing your own boxes, we ask that you leave the top of the box opened. You will also need to provide the postage. We can extend our discount to you from the post office. We will tape the boxes closed and provide the mailing labels as well as deliver the packages to the post office for mailing. You will only need to deliver the packed and opened boxes to us along with a check written to Blue Star Moms for the indicated amount of postage.

We are happy to provide you a receipt for tax purposes. We will need a personal name or name of the organization or company, a mailing address and approximate value of the items donated.

However you choose to organize your fundraiser, no matter how big or how small, we appreciate it from the bottom of our Blue Star Hearts. So, on behalf of Blue Star Moms and our brave men and women in uniform, we say "THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!"
