Gold Star Parents
The Blue Star Moms are committed to remembering our fallen heroes and their sacrifices, the burden of which their families will forever carry. Since World War I, when the Blue Star banner that hung in the front window became an unofficial symbol of a military family member serving overseas, the blue star was covered with gold if a service member was lost in battle.

Today, a banner that displays this gold star is given to families whose loved one is lost while on active duty serving our country. For more information on obtaining a Gold Star banner, please contact gold star banner.

For nearly fifteen years, the Marines Memorial Association in San Francisco has hosted a reception and dinner to honor our California fallen and to support Gold Star families During these two days parents are comforted, and their children lost to us are honored. The Blue Star Moms have had the privilege of assisting with this event each year. We would like to thank the Marines' Memorial Association of San Francisco for sponsoring this event and those who contributed in making it a wonderful tribute to our California fallen Heroes. From the bottom of our Red, White and Blue hearts, thank you!
